Lithium battery sizes are standardized internationally. The standards differ based on battery type:
The 18650 is one of the most widely used cylindrical lithium batteries. Its name comes from its size: 18 mm diameter × 65 mm height, with “0” indicating a rounded shape. I often see these in laptop packs, high-performance electric bicycles, and handheld devices.
The 14500 measures 14 mm × 50 mm and is popular in flashlights, LED torches, baby monitors, and small cameras.
With a diameter of 26 mm and a height of 65 mm, the 26650 has a large capacity, long life, and low internal resistance, making it ideal for electric bicycles, vehicles, and marine applications.
